The Wilder World Gameplay Trailer

The year’s biggest release arrived on December 21st, 2024, as we unveiled the official Wilder World Gameplay Trailer, an 18 minute video that combines cinematic storytelling with lore, gameplay, the WILD token economy, and our NFT collections, to showcase over four years of development. This milestone brings together talents from across the project, offering a detailed glimpse into the progress that has shaped Wilder World. More than just a visual showcase, it marks a defining moment, uniting the many facets of our journey and paving the way for the next chapter in the Metaverse.

The trailer achieved significant reach and engagement across both YouTube, and X, where we trended for nearly two days.

You’ve seen the trailer. Now it’s time to explore the inspiration behind it, and the vision that guided its development.

The Inspiration Behind the Trailer

The trailer draws its primary inspiration from iconic cinematic masterpieces like The Dark Knight and Blade Runner 2049, both known for their atmospheric visuals and profound narrative tones. The influence from these films is evident in Wiami’s neon-rich skyline, evocative lighting, and sweeping shots that capture the scale and complexity of the city. Other notable inspirations include the futuristic tone of Cyberpunk, the expansive and interactive open-world environment of GTA, and the action-packed gameplay of Halo.

All elements of Wilder World are tied into a single cohesive narrative, putting the community at the center with the introduction of Trinity, a key figure in Wilder lore. As the symbolic main character, Trinity represents the Trinity Keepers and serves as a unifying element that anchors our story. The trailer also marks a thematic shift, introducing conflict inside Wilder World, with a call to defend Wiami from The Forum.

Beyond its narrative, the trailer showcases Wilder World's technical achievements, with every scene filmed entirely within the game engine. This not only demonstrates the current state of the game’s development, but also ensures that what is shown is an authentic representation of an in-game experience. Whether exploring the sprawling cityscape or engaging in REBELLION-themed gameplay, players can see for themselves how the environment and gameplay mechanics are evolving.

Setting the Tone

The opening of the trailer sets a cinematic tone with dramatic music, as a Wilder craft soars towards the city of Wiami. The first scene is designed to immediately captivate Wilders, offering sweeping views of the city’s massive scale, including neighborhoods on The Island, such as Little Meow and Tranquility Gardens, parts of The Mainland, Trinity Islands, and the towering mountains in the distance. The trailer is rich with subtle nods to Wilder World’s history and as the craft glides over Wiami, viewers catch a glimpse of Wild Guidance, from the Wilder Guild collection, symbolizing an early beacon of Wilder World.

Inside the Craft, a futuristic UI is showcased, displaying technical readouts such as vehicle schematics, radar screens, and system diagnostics. Designed in collaboration with the world-renowned Territory Studio, this interface enhances immersion, making piloting feel intuitive and deeply integrated into the world of Wiami.

Through the windshield, the Wiami cityscape comes into view, with its iconic skyline, illuminated structures, and rings connecting its vibrant districts. The featured craft was improved by recreating a modern interior using modular parts from our Wheels, ensuring a sleek, high-end design. Additionally, VFX were properly assigned for flight, enhancing the visual fidelity and realism of traversal.

Most importantly, this isn’t just for show—the physics and gameplay for the Crafts are now fully functional and driveable, marking a major step toward integrating them as a premier mode of transportation in Wiami.

Underpinning the entire trailer is the evolving lore of Wilder World. The concept of "The Breach" introduces a new layer of tension, positioning the community as active participants in the city’s defense.

Strong emphasis is placed on the key characters of Wilder World, with Trinity at the heart of the story. As the first character introduced in the trailer, Trinity serves as a symbolic figure for the Trinity Keepers, uniting years of storytelling. Trinity embodies the community, inviting the audience to step into the role of the main character.

The story intensifies as news of "The Breach" spreads, setting the stage for the unfolding conflict and chaos in Wiami. Characters deeply tied to the origins of Wilder lore emerge as the breach unfolds—Phoenix makes his debut, stepping into a car driven by Freedom as they prepare to confront the growing threat. In the background, the AirWild store makes a subtle appearance.

The Forum Agents prepare to attack as they glide over buildings towards HYDROLINK in Moon Boots, while Wheels drive beneath them through the city streets. A Wheel pulls up to the Kadon Cafe as a Wolf casually strides past, and Wilders walk through the bustling Wiami streets, unaware of the chaos beginning to unfold around them.

Ernesto gets the tip-off as a Code Red floods Wiami’s street network. Emergency signals pulse through the city, each one marking another system compromised. Across the city, Dynamo tracks live surveillance feeds, watching as Forum forces breach HYDROLINK. Their movements are precise, calculated—they know exactly where to strike.

As Trinity flies into the city, Little Meow comes into sharp focus, its neon-soaked skyline bursting with life and movement. Billboards and key logos illuminate the streets, showcasing the depth of Wilder World’s ecosystem, featuring Samsung, Polygon, Celestia, Neo Tokyo, Superverse, Immutable, Huxley, Ledger, and Spartan—a testament to the network of pioneers shaping the future of Wiami.

Gliding through the towering architecture, Trinity’s Craft weaves past the iconic 108-unit QUBE building, a defining structure in the city’s skyline and a tribute to Crib holders. Every turn reveals a city designed for exploration, trade, and high-stakes action—where partnerships, technology, and player-driven ownership collide to form a true open-world economy.

As Trinity speeds past the neon-lit MEOW building, the scene cuts to n3o’s lab, where the true scale of the crisis comes into focus. Surrounded by glowing holo-screens, he pieces together the data, tracking the Forum’s incursion in real time. A distress call flashes across his interface—urgent, fragmented, and desperate. His custom UI maps the unfolding chaos, displaying live breach points across Wiami, each one a red pulse signalling destruction. Security feeds show units swarming the HYDROLINK, while encrypted chatter suggests more attacks are imminent.

Upon breaching the HYDROLINK, Forum Agents move with precision, loading their AR-15s as they push deeper into one of Wiami’s richest resource depots. This moment in the Gameplay Trailer introduces a specialized class of Forum enforcers—the Ants. Highly agile and coordinated, the Ants operate as a hive, moving in tight formations, scaling obstacles with enhanced mobility, and executing synchronized attacks. Unlike standard Forum soldiers, they adapt in real time, using the verticality of Wiami’s structures to outmaneuver opponents.

Frank stands high above the city as he is notified of the breach, deep in thought as he looks out over the streets of Little Meow. With a Shmalnoy in hand, he takes a moment before preparing for what’s to come.

This trailer is designed to showcase the scale, detail, and functionality of key Wilder World environments. As the ZERO building comes into view, Trinity flies towards his apartment’s craft pad, a feature that will be prominent on the top of many Wiami buildings. The hovering mechanics of his craft are showcased as he comes in to land.

Stepping out of the Craft, the gameplay section of the trailer begins. Trinity walks around the perimeter of his apartment, approaching the edge of the Craft pad, where the vast cityscape unfolds before him, emphasizing the height of Wiami’s towering megastructures.

AVA—An advanced virtual AI agent—alerts Trinity to a breach near his apartment, warning that Forum Agents have blocked off the street. This moment showcases AVA as part of a decentralized AI agent system designed to assist players in-game.

Trinity enters his apartment, a hub featuring a living space and wardrobe with various Trinity suit options–where he then equips the Obsidian Stalker skin in preparation for the upcoming mission. In the wardrobe you can also see Wilder World-branded caps, and Air Wild sneaker boxes. In Wilder World, every item will exist as an onchain object, and players will have the option to store purchased apparel items in their Cribs.

The Trinity Suit introduces the wing suit, a game-changing traversal mechanic, allowing players to launch from towering skyscrapers and glide seamlessly through Wiami. Inspired by movement systems seen in battle royale games, the wing suit mechanic gives players unprecedented freedom and speed, transforming the city’s verticality into a strategic advantage.

As Trinity makes his entry into the streets, a Mining Rig is spotted blocking one of the roads, an easter egg of the future mining gameplay mechanics for Land keepers. Here, the trailer highlights the development of our combat system, showcasing hand-to-hand melee fights on the streets of Wiami for the very first time.

After taking down the first series of agents, the next move is clear—find a ride and equip some weapons. Ava calls Trinity to inform him that she has hacked a nearby Wilder Wheel. After the execution of a successful break-in of a WLK 1998, he races through the open-world of Wiami towards The Armoury, the ultimate weapons destination.

Inside the Armoury, Trinity browses the selection, guided by a BEING, an in-world AI agent attendant trained on the intricacies of every weapon in the arsenal. Inquiring on weapons using spatial audio, a BEING then provides a detailed breakdown on the available weapons.

The purchase of a Shmalnoy and an AR-15 is seamlessly executed through a frictionless transaction, powered by WILD. The process is instantaneous, reinforcing how the Wilder economy operates in real time, with assets fully onchain and ready for action.

Next stop, NEXUS Metro. This fully implemented metro station is part of a growing city transit network that will eventually serve as a key transportation hub, connecting Wiami’s neighborhoods and districts.

Inside the station, viewers get a first look at third-person combat mechanics as Trinity engages Forum Agents in a fast, tactical firefight. Gunfire echoes through the terminal as cover-based movement, precision shooting, and dynamic AI opponents come into play.

Once inside the facility, the intensity ramps up as the trailer highlights a variety of gameplay mechanics in action. An interactive map provides real-time navigation, displaying Trinity’s position and enemy locations. Combat is dynamic, featuring breakable glass, explosive barrels, and grenade mechanics that add layers of strategy to each encounter.

Weapon handling shines with smooth reload animations and precise FPS mechanics, delivering seamless, immersive gunplay. Along the way, Moon Boots and other key items enhance traversal, adding verticality to the fight.

As Trinity moves deeper, the challenge intensifies—Forum Agents adapt in real time, with varying AI difficulty. Some coordinate and take cover, while others rush aggressively, forcing players to react fast. Every encounter is dynamic, making combat unpredictable and rewarding.

Rooftops
Wiami's rooftops are evolving every day! Recent updates feature a variety of innovative designs, including urban parks and lush green spaces, bringing a touch of nature to the city's skyline.

Wiami Street Upgrades
The streets of Wiami are undergoing a significant transformation with the latest updates. The expansion now stretches beyond Little Meow, featuring intricate details and new assets that bring greater vibrancy and depth to the city.

Mainland
Beyond the streets of the city, Wiami’s Mainland is coming to life—a vast expanse of lush tropics, dense wilderness, and untamed landscapes. This is where the lifeblood of Wilder World’s economy will take root, as mining rigs stake their claim, extracting valuable onchain resources from the land.

The contrast between the wild and the built defines the Mainland—where towering mechanized extractors carve into the earth beneath sweeping canopies, and hidden pathways wind through dense jungle, leading to undiscovered opportunities. As development continues, the Mainland will become a crucial hub, shaping the flow of resources and fueling the emerging economy of Wiami.

Construction Buildings
As Wilder World continues to evolve, so does its urban landscape. The latest addition to Wiami’s ever-expanding cityscape is a new generation of modular construction buildings, designed specifically for multiplayer environments. These structures bring a new level of interactivity, adaptability, and immersive world-building to the metaverse, serving as key locations for combat zones.

These modular buildings are constructed with dynamic, reconfigurable components that allow for real-time adaptation.

  • Interchangeable layouts – Walls, doors, and floors adjust based on mission types.
  • Scalable interiors – Buildings can expand vertically or horizontally, allowing for ever-changing exploration.
  • Procedural pipeline enabled – Crafted in a way to plug directly into our procedural city system.

Weapons

Sniper Rifle
A new weapon in the Wilder arsenal. Blending sleek, futuristic design with high-precision engineering, featuring streamlined barrels, adaptive chassis, and modular scopes for unparalleled accuracy. Built from lightweight carbon alloys these weapons offer maximum durability without sacrificing mobility. Each sniper rifle is a versatile tool for elite marksmen, delivering lethal precision at extreme distances while maintaining a stealth-focused, tactical edge in both urban and open-world engagements.

Weapon Attachments
All weapons in Wilder World are designed to have interchangeable parts. This is no different for our suppressors, designed with a universal attachment system, allowing them to be swapped between most firearms without requiring specialized modifications. Each suppressor is engineered with adaptive threading and nano-coil adjustment technology, enabling a seamless fit on various calibers.

Procedural

Beach Walls
A beach wall system was installed around the island's perimeter, creating a separation between the busy city streets and the peaceful nature of the beaches. The system includes openings in the wall to allow pedestrians easy access between areas.

Building Ads
Our new procedural building ad placement system draws inspiration from Tokyo's unique ad culture. By referencing Tokyo, we have encoded custom rules that mimic the placement and positioning of ads in varying densities across city areas. Our proprietary algorithm offers multiple options for different mathematical clustering and packing systems.

Building Attachments
Large form geometries have been developed to attach to our buildings, creating varied skyline silhouettes and influencing the city's overall shape. In addition to these large attachments, smaller repeated elements, such as cross-brace diagrid structures, have been incorporated. The system distributes these objects across various buildings, automatically adjusting their size for a perfect fit. These attachments also enhance the street-level experience with building offsets and overhangs, adding a dynamic touch to the urban landscape.

Building Bases
We created a unique procedural system specifically for building bases. By varying the shape of the structures above, we can generate terrace rooftops on top of the building bases and create sidewalk overhangs from the buildings above. These terraces enable diverse activities and experiences for the city, including parks, hangout spots, restaurants, clubs, and more. The contrast in shapes between the building base and upper levels also adds visual interest to the building sightlines.

Building LEDs
We revamped our building LED system to utilize highly optimized LED pattern tiles. These tiles are applied to different building faces and automatically adjust to fit the assigned wall, ensuring the pattern remains seamless. The algorithm also assigns colors to the LEDs and incorporates a light movement pattern.

Building Materials
Materials played a crucial role in the recent building updates. Instead of relying on static baked textures for each part, we implemented a procedurally adaptive material system. This approach saved significant memory by eliminating the need for numerous unique texture maps, ensuring that textures wouldn’t be repeated across panels. Our custom procedural material system allows us to add color, dirt, edge wear, and various other layers in different amounts per part. Each building is assigned a unique color, wear and tear value, and other distinguishing factors, creating variety throughout the city.

Building Skyways
A defining feature of cyberpunk cities is the connection of buildings via skyway bridges. We developed a procedural system that identifies optimal locations for skyway bridges between buildings at various heights. The system sets limits on minimal and maximal lengths and ensures these bridges always connect two buildings without intersecting others. Additionally, the system allows for control over the density of skyways and specifies the areas of the map where they are generated.

Building Windows
Our building window system has undergone a major overhaul, enhancing our control over interior types, as well as their color and brightness values. The algorithm is fine-tuned to achieve the perfect balance of warm and cool colors, with pops of different hues distributed throughout. This creates the illusion of a lived-in city that feels realistic and natural.

Building Panels
We designed a series of new building panels for a state-of-the-art building assembly system. These panels can be assembled in various ways for each building, creating diverse building results while maintaining a consistent design language. The system includes settings for different wall types and panel sizes, which automatically adjust to fit the assigned building block. Different conditions are set depending on the building's size and intended use.

Craft Paths
We generated an invisible highway throughout the city to guide our AI craft flight network. These guides provide the general path that crafts need to follow. Along the way, the crafts use AI to make decisions to avoid crashing into each other, choose routes, and navigate around buildings and other city elements.

Driving Paths
A primary AI system in the city is traffic management. Traffic is complex and can only be effectively managed by AI rule-based systems. We generate driving and turning paths that represent possibilities and general guidelines. The AI follows these paths loosely, making decisions on whether to turn at intersections, change lanes, speed up, stop, and perform other responsive actions. In most instances, the guide paths help ensure that traffic flows smoothly and avoids wrong decisions.

Median Types
Creating variety around the city is crucial for crafting a realistic experience. Medians offer multiple opportunities for diversity in city streets. Along with varying median widths, our procedural street system creates various styles of medians, such as planters with vegetation and trees, barriers, reflector poles, and sidewalk-style medians adorned with various assets like art displays.

NPC Paths
Crowds make the city feel alive, and our AI-controlled crowds need some guidance. We generated paths and rules for the NPCs (non-playable characters) to follow, ensuring they walk on sidewalks without getting stuck on objects or colliding with each other. They also avoid ending up in the middle of the street, obstructing moving vehicles. The NPC AI uses our guides for movement possibilities but decides where and how to go on their own within the defined system ruleset.

Overpass Attachments
We began developing various systems that can attach to the overpass, starting with a series of tunnel-like gates. These elements create diverse moments and experiences along the overpass route. All assets are integrated into the overpass system and arranged procedurally. Expect to see many more additions to the overpass system in the future, enhancing the variety of driving experiences.

Overpass Integration
The overpass system has been systematically integrated into the city's buildings to harmonize infrastructural transit with the urban landscape. This integration allows the overpasses to weave around and through buildings, enhancing both the architectural design and the driving experience. These systems are procedurally linked, so changes in one system inform and adjust the other, ensuring seamless coordination.

Parked Cars
We generated a point cloud to designate parking spots throughout the city. These points contain information about the type of car to place, its offset, rotation, and position. These slight variations in rotation and offset ensure that the cars appear naturally parked, adding a touch of realism to the scene.

Pedestrian Bridges
Crossing busy streets can be challenging, so we’ve added pedestrian bridges throughout the city. These elevated walkways allow pedestrians to cross streets from one sidewalk to another safely. Our procedural system identifies optimal locations for these bridges, ensuring they don't collide with other sidewalk objects. The bridges automatically adjust in length depending on the road they need to cross.

Ring Bridges
A monumental feature of the city is the massive ring bridges connecting the island to the mainland. We developed a system that bends mech panels along these rings and generates dense forests on top of them. Although still in the early stages of development, these ring bridges will become a defining aspect of Wiami.

Rooftop Kits
Rooftops are often overlooked in virtual cities, but in our world, vertical exploration through flying and climbing is key. This necessitates thoughtful design and planning of rooftops. We've developed a procedural system to assemble various rooftop equipment clusters, which can be scattered across rooftops. These clusters are algorithmically placed on each rooftop, with selections based on the specific roof's area size.

Sidewalk Scatter
A significant portion of open-world gameplay takes place on city streets and sidewalks, making it essential that they feel authentic with all the components and objects you'd find in a real city. We've created multiple object scatter systems that interact and adjust with one another to place items such as streetlights, bollards, guardrails, trees, planters, benches, trash cans, fire hydrants and bike racks.

Wheels

The Wheels team developed assets to support the cinematics, materials, cameras, and animations of the trailer.

City Car

To enhance the futuristic feel of Wiami, the team designed a new set of Wheels: the Generic city Wheels, Taxis, Sedans and Wagons. These vehicles will eventually be released as generic city cars, prioritizing reliability, comfort, and safety over speed, perfect for navigating Wiami’s streets.

Wheels Collection Redesign Update

Significant progress has been made on the Wheels collection redesign. Each concept includes front, rear, side, and top views, created using a combination of 3D modelling and Photoshop to ensure accuracy for final implementation. We are actively scaling up production and aim to hit 10 new vehicles per month by the end of February. This will put us on track to have the whole Wilder Wheels collection in-game by the end of 2025. We have also significantly scaled up modular part production for the future release of deep vehicle modifications, which will act as a key part to the Wilder World economy.
